Fresno County, CA (September 2, 2024) – On Monday night, September 2, 2024, 72-year-old Alionso Jimenez Perez of Selma tragically lost his life after a pickup truck collided with the back of his farming tractor.
Accident Details: The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Floral Avenue, near Temperance Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Perez was driving his farm tractor eastbound on Floral Avenue when a Toyota Tacoma, approaching from behind, failed to see the slow-moving vehicle in time to avoid a crash. The collision ejected Perez from the tractor, causing severe injuries. He was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota was uninjured and remained at the scene. CHP has indicated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a role in this accident.
