Victorville, CA (June 27, 2024) – On June 27, 2024, a tragic three-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Amargosa Road and Eucalyptus Street in Victorville, claiming the life of Elizabeth Faamaligi, a 55-year-old resident of Victorville.
Accident Details: The crash involved a white BMW 328d, a gray Kia Sorento, and a silver Toyota Camry. The female driver of the Kia was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries, while the male driver of the Toyota declined medical transportation. Elizabeth Faamaligi was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she later died.
Investigation: The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several aspects of this case warrant further examination. Determining who was at fault is critical. Investigators will look into whether any of the drivers were speeding, distracted, or otherwise negligent. Eyewitness accounts and surveillance footage, if available, will be crucial in establishing this. Investigators will also assess whether the traffic signals were functioning correctly and whether any road hazards or poor conditions could have contributed to the crash. Any road hazards may implicate liability for the local municipality. The investigation will include examining whether all vehicles involved were adequately maintained. Mechanical failures can sometimes lead to accidents, which may implicate car manufacturers or maintenance service providers. Depending on the investigation’s findings, Faamaligi’s family may be able to file a wrongful death claim and recover compensation for their lost loved one, including funeral and burial expenses.
My sincerest condolences are with the family and friends of Elizabeth Faamaligi during this difficult time. I wish the injured individuals a speedy recovery.
