Hesperia, CA (August 27, 2024) – On Monday, at around 4:30 a.m., a devastating collision at the intersection of Ranchero and Mariposa roads in Hesperia claimed the life of 30-year-old Carlos Guillen Soliz and left his uncle in a coma.
Accident Details: Carlos Guillen Soliz and his uncle were traveling south on Mariposa Road in a Nissan when they entered the intersection at a green light. At that moment, a Ford pickup truck heading east on Ranchero Road failed to stop at a red light, crashing into the passenger side of the Nissan. Tragically, Guillen Soliz was pronounced dead at the scene, while his uncle, the driver of the Nissan, sustained critical injuries and was placed in a coma. Both drivers involved were treated for their injuries, and authorities have stated that intoxicated driving was not a factor in the crash.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that this accident raises serious legal questions regarding liability. The driver of the Ford truck appears to have violated traffic laws by running the red light, leading to the fatal collision. Violating traffic laws can amount to negligence. If investigators find that this negligence was the cause of the accident, Guillen Soliz’s family may be able to file a wrongful death claim. By filing this claim, they might be able to recover compensation for the death of their loved one, including funeral and burial expenses.
I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Carlos Guillen Soliz during this unimaginably difficult time. My thoughts are with his uncle as he fights for his life in the hospital.
