Brisbane, CA (March 24, 2025) – A woman was killed and another person was injured early Monday morning in a hit-and-run crash involving three vehicles on Bayshore Boulevard in Brisbane. Police have arrested the suspected driver who fled the scene.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 5:15 a.m. on the 3700 block of Bayshore Boulevard. A 60-year-old woman, who was driving one of the vehicles involved, was found unresponsive when first responders arrived. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. A 35-year-old man driving a second vehicle was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The third driver fled before police arrived but was later identified as a 37-year-old man from Burlingame. Authorities say he has been arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run causing death, and hit-and-run causing injury.
Legal Considerations: Leaving the scene of a deadly crash is a felony offense under California law. In this case, the charges filed against the suspect reflect both the fatal and injurious consequences of his alleged actions. Prosecutors may seek restitution on behalf of the woman’s family, and civil action may also follow depending on the outcome of the criminal case.
If it’s determined that reckless driving, speed, or impairment played a role, the victim’s family could pursue a wrongful death lawsuit in addition to the criminal charges already filed.
