Sacramento, CA (March 25, 2025) – A pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-and-run crash early Tuesday morning in Sacramento.
Accident Details: According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly after midnight to the area of Northgate Boulevard and the Arden Garden Connector. There, they found a man in the roadway after being hit by a vehicle. Although he was transported to a hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities say the driver involved, 34-year-old Abdishakur Mohamud, initially fled the scene but returned while police were still investigating. Officers detained him upon his return and later arrested him. According to jail records, he was booked just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday into the Sacramento County Main Jail. Mohamud faces a felony hit-and-run charge and two misdemeanor DUI charges. His bail is $75,000, and he is scheduled to appear Thursday afternoon in Sacramento County Superior Court.
