Sacramento, CA (May 13, 2025) — A pedestrian killed in a collision near Del Paso Heights over the weekend has been identified as 58-year-old Ernesto Torres of Sacramento, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
Incident Details: The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, near the intersection of Rio Linda Boulevard and North Avenue. Responding officers from the Sacramento Police Department found Torres with serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead. The driver involved remained at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators.
Police have stated that drugs and alcohol are not suspected of contributing to the collision. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and no arrests or citations have been reported as of Tuesday.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities will continue to examine whether speed, distraction, failure to yield, or other forms of negligence may have played a role in the crash.
