One Dead, Three Injured in Crash Involving Concrete Truck Near Ellis Grove

Randolph County, IL (March 26, 2025) – One person was killed and three others injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash involving a concrete truck and an SUV on Illinois Route 3, just north of Ellis Grove, according to the Illinois State Police.

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 6:47 a.m. approximately 1.5 miles north of Ellis Grove. Authorities say a concrete truck and an SUV collided on Route 3, resulting in fatal injuries to one person and non-fatal injuries to three others. All lanes were closed for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene, including the removal of the concrete truck.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Key considerations may include right-of-way violations, speed, visibility, and whether either vehicle veered from its lane. Victims and surviving family members may be entitled to personal injury or wrongful death claims depending on the findings of fault or negligence.
