Dunnellon, FL (March 28, 2025) – Three people were hospitalized Friday morning following a crash between a Toyota sedan and a semi-tractor trailer in the Dunnellon area, according to Marion County Fire Rescue.
Accident Details: The crash occurred just before 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Southwest Oleander Place and Southwest Marine Boulevard. All three occupants of the sedan were trapped inside the vehicle after the collision. Marion County Fire Rescue crews arrived on scene and extricated the victims within four minutes.
All three individuals were transported to a local trauma hospital, with one patient classified as a trauma alert due to the severity of their injuries. The semi-truck driver’s condition was not reported.
Legal Considerations: Crashes involving semi-trucks and passenger cars often prompt investigations into right-of-way, speed, and vehicle positioning. Authorities may review skid marks, vehicle damage, and onboard data to determine how the collision occurred and whether either driver failed to yield or misjudged the intersection.
If the investigation reveals negligence on the part of the semi-truck driver, the injured individuals may have the right to pursue personal injury claims for medical treatment, lost wages, and long-term recovery needs.
Ongoing Investigation: Florida Highway Patrol is handling the investigation. No citations or fault determinations have been announced. Officials have not released the names or conditions of those involved.
I hope the individuals injured in this crash recover quickly and receive the care they need.
