Minooka, IL (June 6, 2025) — A woman sustained life-threatening injuries Friday morning in a collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger car on Route 52 west of Shorewood, near Grove Road, according to the Illinois State Police.
Incident Details: The crash occurred at approximately 8:22 a.m. and involved a tractor-trailer and a Honda sedan. The impact forced the car into a roadside ditch. The female driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
In response to the collision, authorities closed a significant portion of Route 52 and Grove Road. The Illinois State Police, assisted by the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, established a roadblock to divert traffic and ensure a secure scene for the ongoing investigation.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Illinois State Police continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Key questions may include whether the semi-truck operator was speeding, distracted, or failed to yield. Investigators are likely reviewing dashcam footage, black box data, and skid marks to reconstruct the moments leading up to the impact.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, the injured driver may have grounds for a personal injury claim. These lawsuits can provide financial recovery for medical costs, lost wages, long-term care, and emotional suffering.
My thoughts are with the injured driver and her loved ones during this difficult time.
