Norco, CA (July 16, 2024) – A 34-year-old woman has been arrested following a tragic incident where she allegedly struck and killed a man, Bahman Nowrozi, with her vehicle. Authorities have described the event as a “domestic altercation.”
Accident Details: The incident occurred on the 1200 block of Hamner Avenue. Upon arrival, authorities discovered 57-year-old Bahman Nowrozi, of Riverside, suffering from severe injuries consistent with a traffic collision. Nowrozi was transferred to a hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Investigation Overview: Aubrey McGee, identified as the vehicle’s driver, was also found at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicated that the collision resulted from a domestic dispute. Consequently, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Central Homicide Unit took over the investigation, and McGee was arrested on charges of murder. She has been booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing, but officials have stated that no additional suspects are currently believed to be involved. Authorities have not disclosed the nature of McGee’s relationship with Nowrozi.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that this tragic incident underscores the complex interplay between criminal and civil liabilities in cases involving domestic altercations that escalate to fatal outcomes. In this case, the investigation conducted by the Central Homicide Unit will be crucial in determining the specific circumstances leading to the collision. Key aspects that warrant thorough examination include the nature of the dispute, McGee’s intent, eyewitness testimony, surveillance footage, and toxicology reports.
For the family of Bahman Nowrozi, this incident not only represents a criminal matter but may also involve a wrongful death claim, providing an avenue for the family to seek compensation for their loss.
My sincerest condolences are with the family and friends of Bahman Nowrozi during this difficult time.
