South El Monte, CA (December 27, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred Friday morning in the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area when a Ram pickup truck crashed, leading to the death of 75-year-old Henry Hollins.
Accident Details: The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the crash at 9:10 a.m. near the intersection of Rosemead and San Gabriel Boulevards. According to CHP reports, the vehicle went off the road, overturned, and landed upright in a riverbed just south of San Gabriel Boulevard. Hollins was confirmed dead at the scene.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that as the investigation continues, authorities will examine the driver’s actions, road conditions, and the possibility of mechanical failure as potential factors in the crash. A wrongful death claim can be filed when negligence causes the death of another. Hollins’s family may have grounds to file such a claim if the investigators identify negligence as the cause of the accident.
With this claim, Hollins’s family may be able to recover funeral expenses, loss of financial support, and damages for the emotional distress of losing a loved one.
I extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Henry Hollins during this heartbreaking time.
