Cherry Valley, IL (April 16, 2025) – A semi-truck overturned late Wednesday morning following a serious crash at a Cherry Valley intersection, sending at least one person to the hospital.
Incident Details: Around 11:30 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the intersection of South Mulford and Baxter Roads. According to officials, the semi-truck overturned during the crash and spilled a large quantity of corn onto the roadway. Another vehicle, a sedan, was also involved and sustained visible damage. The driver of the semi had to be extricated by the Cherry Valley Fire Department and was transported to a local hospital. The extent of injuries remains unknown at this time.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet released further information on whether speed, mechanical failure, or driver error played a role. The road remains closed in both directions as the investigation and cleanup continue. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
