Two Adults Injured in Carmichael Hit-and-Run on Walnut Avenue

Carmichael, CA (April 12, 2025) — A Saturday morning hit-and-run collision in Carmichael left two adults injured after a sedan made an unsafe lane change and struck a truck carrying four people, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Walnut Avenue, just south of Winding Way. CHP reports that a sedan heading northbound attempted an unsafe lane change, colliding with a pickup truck. The impact caused the truck to veer off the road and strike a power pole. Two adults inside the truck were hospitalized — one with minor injuries and the other with more serious injuries. Two juveniles also in the vehicle were uninjured. The driver of the sedan fled the scene.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities are searching for the hit-and-run driver. Investigators will likely review surveillance footage from surrounding businesses and traffic cameras in hopes of identifying the fleeing vehicle. The driver may face felony hit-and-run charges, especially due to the injuries involved. As always, leaving the scene of an accident significantly escalates potential legal consequences, even in crashes initially caused by simple negligence.
