Creola, AL (April 18, 2025) – A 25-year-old man from New Mexico was killed early Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash involving a commercial truck on northbound Interstate 65 near Creola, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
Accident Details: The collision occurred around 7:00 a.m. near mile marker 24, just before the Delta Bridges. Authorities say Bryon C. Adams, the driver of a passenger vehicle, struck a commercial truck and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was injured and transported to Mobile Infirmary in Saraland for treatment. Their condition has not been publicly disclosed.
The crash temporarily closed all northbound lanes of I-65, with traffic diverted to Exit 19. The highway was later reopened following an investigation and cleanup of the crash site.
Legal Considerations: In fatal crashes involving commercial trucks, investigators evaluate numerous factors including speed, lane changes, visibility, and compliance with traffic laws. Authorities will likely review vehicle data, skid marks, and witness statements to determine the events leading up to the collision.
Depending on the findings, the family of Bryon Adams may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim if the commercial vehicle operator is found to have contributed to the crash through negligence or unsafe driving practices.
Ongoing Investigation: ALEA continues to investigate the incident. No information has been released regarding potential citations or charges. The identities of additional individuals involved have not been disclosed.
I extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Bryon C. Adams during this difficult time.
