Motorcyclist Brian Timothy Bayer Killed in a Crash with a Dump Truck in Bullhead City, AZ

Bullhead City, AZ (March 11, 2026) – Brian Timothy Bayer, 55, of Helena, Montana, died in a crash involving a motorcycle and a dump truck that occurred in Bullhead City, Arizona.

Incident Details: According to Bullhead City Police, the collision happened shortly before 10 a.m. on March 11, 2026, at the intersection of Bullhead Parkway and Silver Creek Road. The crash involved a northbound dump truck and a southbound motorcycle.

Witnesses reported that the dump truck was turning left onto Silver Creek Road while the traffic signal was yellow when it collided with the oncoming motorcycle. The dump truck driver reportedly told investigators that he did not see the motorcycle before initiating the turn.

The motorcyclist, Brian Timothy Bayer, 55, of Helena, Montana, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Investigation: Bullhead City Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. Investigators will work to determine the sequence of events and whether any traffic violations contributed to the crash.

Authorities will likely review several factors, including:

  • Right-of-way at the intersection, including which driver had the legal right to proceed during the yellow signal.
  • Vehicle turning movements, as the dump truck was reportedly making a left turn across the motorcycle’s path.
  • Driver visibility and attentiveness, including whether the truck driver had a clear view of the oncoming motorcycle.
  • Traffic signal timing and roadway evidence, such as skid marks, vehicle damage, and final resting positions.
  • Witness statements and nearby surveillance footage, which may help investigators reconstruct the collision.

After completing the investigation, the case will be forwarded to the City Prosecutor’s Office to determine whether any charges are appropriate.

Legal Considerations: Left-turn collisions involving motorcycles are particularly dangerous and often occur when a driver fails to judge the speed or distance of an approaching motorcycle. Under Arizona law, drivers making a left turn across traffic must yield to oncoming vehicles that are close enough to present a hazard.

If investigators determine that the dump truck driver failed to yield or did not maintain proper awareness while turning, the driver and, potentially, the company that owns or operates the commercial vehicle could face civil liability. In that situation, Brian Timothy Bayer’s surviving family members may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim seeking compensation for funeral expenses, loss of financial support, and the loss of companionship resulting from this tragic collision.

My deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Brian Timothy Bayer as they cope with this sudden and tragic loss.
