Bobby L. Wiggers, 19, Killed in Mississippi Collision With Semi-Truck on Highway 15

Perry County, Mississippi  (April 6, 2026) — A 19-year-old man was killed Monday morning in a crash involving a pickup truck and a semi-truck on Highway 15 in Perry County, according to authorities.

Officials identified the deceased as Bobby L. Wiggers of Richton.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on Highway 15.

Incident Details: According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Wiggers was driving a Dodge pickup southbound on Highway 15 when it collided with a semi-truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the driver of the semi-truck was not injured. Public reporting has not yet provided additional details about how the collision occurred or which vehicle may have crossed into the other’s path.

Perry County District 1 Supervisor Robert Myers told WDAM that Wiggers was a road and bridge employee for District 4.

Investigation: The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. In a case like this, investigators will likely focus on the position of both vehicles, the point of impact, speed, visibility, and whether either driver took evasive action before the collision. In a serious crash involving a pickup and a semi-truck, those details are often central to determining exactly how the wreck happened.

Investigators may also review roadway conditions, debris patterns, vehicle damage, and any witness statements or available video footage. Because the early public reporting is limited, crash reconstruction may become especially important here. This is the kind of collision that calls for a careful review of the facts so the victim’s family can better understand what happened and why.

Legal Considerations: Fatal crashes involving semi-trucks often raise significant civil liability issues, especially before the full facts are known. If the crash involved a commercial vehicle, a civil investigation may also examine the trucking operation, driver conduct, maintenance records, and other safety-related issues that may not be addressed fully in an initial news report.

If evidence shows that another party was negligent, the Wiggers’ family may have the right to file a wrongful death claim. This may cover funeral and burial costs, lost financial support, companionship, and guidance.

I sincerely offer my condolences to Bobby’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
