Victorville, CA (March 11, 2025) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a car on Highway 395 and Luna Road.
Accident Details: Authorities responded to the crash around 9 p.m., where they determined that a gray Honda had struck a bicyclist in the roadway. The victim, identified only as a man, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the Honda remained at the scene, and the circumstances leading up to the collision are still under investigation. Officials urge any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
Investigation: Authorities will review traffic camera footage, witness statements from nearby drivers or pedestrians, and vehicle damage.
Legal Considerations: Drivers must exercise caution around bicyclists and yield when necessary. Investigators will determine whether the driver had the right-of-way, if the bicyclist was in a designated bike lane or crosswalk, and whether the driver could stop in time to prevent the crash.
Bicyclists can be more vulnerable at night, especially in areas with poor lighting or high-speed traffic. Authorities will assess whether roadway conditions, street lighting, or the victim’s visibility contributed to the collision.
If investigators determine that driver negligence caused the crash, the victim’s family may have grounds to file a wrongful death claim.
I extend my sincerest condolences to the family and loved ones of the bicyclist who lost his life in this accident.
