American Canyon, CA (June 5, 2025) — A 65-year-old bicyclist was killed Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a pickup truck while riding along a roadway in American Canyon, according to local authorities and family members.
Incident Details: The collision occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. near the intersection of southbound Highway 29 and Theresa Avenue. Police say Donald Turnbow, a longtime Napa resident, was riding his bicycle southbound when he was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Emergency crews arrived on the scene and provided aid, but Turnbow was pronounced dead shortly after the incident.
The pickup driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: American Canyon Police and the Napa County Sheriff’s Office are continuing their investigation, and no arrests or citations have been reported at this time. Authorities will examine right-of-way, roadway conditions, speed, and whether the driver maintained a proper lookout.
