New Brunswick, New Jersey (March 8, 2026) — A 27-year-old woman died after a serious three-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on Route 18 in New Brunswick, according to authorities.
Officials identified the victim as Arleen Marmol de Ortiz, of Parlin (Sayreville). She died on March 14, 2026, after several days in critical condition.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Route 18 at Paulus Boulevard.
Incident Details: According to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Marmol de Ortiz was driving a BMW when it collided with a tractor-trailer at the intersection.
A third vehicle, an Infiniti Q50 driven by her fiancé, also 27 and from Parlin, was involved in the crash. He sustained minor injuries, according to reports.
Emergency responders transported Marmol de Ortiz to JFK Medical Center with a serious head injury. Due to the severity of her condition, she was later transferred to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she remained in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on March 14.
Authorities said the driver of the tractor-trailer, a 57-year-old man from Norristown, Pennsylvania, was not seriously injured.
No charges have been filed at this time.
