Moniteau County, MO (August 5, 2025) — A 66-year-old woman from California, Missouri, was critically injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash involving a dump truck, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).
Incident Details: Authorities report the crash occurred when a 2018 International dump truck, traveling south on Industrial Drive, failed to yield and struck the driver’s side of a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina traveling eastbound on Lookout Trail. The impact left the woman driving the Chevy with serious injuries. She was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia for emergency treatment. MSHP noted that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The ongoing MSHP investigation will focus on crucial factors such as vehicle maintenance, driver training, and potential distractions.
Pending the investigation’s findings, the injured woman could pursue a personal injury claim for compensation covering medical costs, lost income, and ongoing care required due to the accident.
I wish the injured woman a full and swift recovery.
