Lincoln County, MO (May 8, 2025) — A New London man sustained serious injuries in a tractor-on-tractor collision that occurred Monday afternoon on U.S. Route 61, south of Missouri Route Z, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).
Incident Details: Authorities report that both vehicles, a Mack tractor and a Case tractor, were traveling southbound in the second lane of the highway. The Case tractor was straddling both the shoulder and the travel lane when the Mack tractor rear-ended it. The collision caused both vehicles to overturn and resulted in the ejection of the 62-year-old driver of the Case tractor. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. His identity has not yet been released.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: MSHP continues to investigate the circumstances of the collision, including whether lane positioning, visibility, speed, or mechanical issues contributed to the crash. Investigators will also assess whether either driver failed to exercise due caution while operating large, potentially unstable agricultural vehicles on a major highway.
Depending on the findings, the injured driver or their family may pursue a personal injury claim to recover medical expenses, long-term rehabilitation, loss of income, and pain and suffering.
I hope for a full and swift recovery for the injured driver.
