52-Year-Old Woman Critically Injured in Studio City Hit-and-Run

Studio City, CA (June 1, 2025) — A 52-year-old woman was left in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Sunday night in Studio City, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Moorpark Street. Police say a dark-colored SUV—possibly blue—struck two parked vehicles and then hit two pedestrians who were standing nearby. One of the pedestrians, a 52-year-old woman, suffered critical injuries and was transported to the hospital. The second pedestrian declined further medical treatment after being evaluated at the scene.

The driver of the SUV fled southbound on Laurel Canyon Boulevard without stopping. Authorities say the suspect’s vehicle will likely have visible damage to the front right area.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities continue their investigation and are likely reviewing nearby surveillance footage, collecting physical evidence from the parked vehicles, and looking into the public’s tips to identify the driver and assess whether other factors contributed to the crash. A $25,000 reward is offered for information leading to the driver’s identification, arrest, and conviction.

Pending the identification of the driver and other findings, the injured victim may be entitled to pursue a personal injury claim for medical expenses, long-term care, and emotional suffering.

I wish the injured pedestrian a full and swift recovery.
