Detroit, MI (June 16, 2025) — A 28-year-old man was fatally injured after being struck by a semi-truck while walking on Interstate 75 near Seven Mile Road Sunday evening, according to Michigan State Police.
Incident Details: Authorities began receiving calls around 6:30 p.m. reporting a pedestrian running in and out of traffic lanes on southbound I-75. The man, a Detroit resident, was in the roadway when a passing semi-truck struck him. He was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have notified the man’s family.
The crash prompted a temporary shutdown of the interstate while investigators worked the scene.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities continue investigating the cause of the collision and will examine whether the driver was speeding, distracted, or failed to react appropriately given the circumstances.
