Wolcott, NY (July 15, 2025) – A 26-year-old man from Henrietta is fighting for his life after a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Wayne County, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Accident Details: The crash occurred Monday morning at the intersection of State Route 104 and Route 370 in Wolcott. Authorities say a tractor-trailer failed to yield while making a left turn, colliding with the man’s car.
First responders extricated the driver from the vehicle, and he was airlifted to Upstate Medical Hospital with life-threatening injuries. His current condition has not been updated.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not reported to be injured. Officials have not yet announced whether charges will be filed.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. In collisions involving commercial trucks, authorities typically examine right-of-way violations, truck driver conduct, and possible equipment issues. Failing to yield during a left turn is a frequent cause of serious crashes between trucks and passenger vehicles.
Victims of commercial truck accidents often face extensive medical expenses, long-term recovery, and significant financial loss. Legal claims may be available to pursue compensation for medical care, lost wages, and other damages if negligence is determined.
We send our thoughts to the injured driver and hope for his full recovery.
