24-Year-Old Woman Seriously Injured in Semi-Truck Collision in Missouri

Cameron, MO (June 18, 2025) — A 24-year-old woman from Cameron sustained life-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon when her Kia was struck by a semi-truck at a rural intersection in northwest Missouri, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 1:55 p.m. at the intersection of NW Barwick and NW Sale Barn Road. Authorities say a 73-year-old man from King City was driving a 2015 Freightliner semi southbound when he stopped to yield for a vehicle ahead. After proceeding through the intersection, the semi collided with the passenger side of the woman’s westbound 2004 Kia, already in the intersection.

Emergency responders transported the woman to Cameron Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. It remains unclear whether she was wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the semi was properly restrained and uninjured. The Kia sustained extensive damage; the semi had only minor damage.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: MSHP continues to investigate how and why the crash occurred, including whether the semi-truck driver failed to yield properly. Critical evidence, including witness statements, vehicle data, and intersection visibility conditions, will be key in assessing fault.

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the injured woman may have grounds to pursue a personal injury claim to help cover medical costs, long-term care needs, and other losses.

Wishing the injured driver strength and a full recovery during this difficult time.
