IMPERIAL, CA (July 17, 2025) – A 15-year-old boy was seriously injured early Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Worthington Road near State Route 111, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 1:23 a.m. CHP El Centro Dispatch received reports of a pedestrian down on Worthington Road, east of SR-111. Investigators say an unknown driver, traveling eastbound on Worthington Road, struck the teenager for reasons still under investigation.
The impact threw the teen onto the south asphalt shoulder of the roadway. He suffered major injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center for emergency medical care.
The driver and vehicle involved in the crash have not been identified.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: CHP continues to investigate the crash. It is currently unknown if alcohol, speed, or other factors played a role. Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the CHP El Centro Area Office at (760) 312-1800.
