61-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Motorcycle Collision on Santa Teresa Boulevard in Gilroy

GILROY, CA (July 15, 2025) – A 61-year-old man was killed Tuesday evening after being struck by a motorcycle in Gilroy, according to the Gilroy Police Department.

Accident Details: The crash occurred just before 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Ballybunion Drive. When officers arrived, they found both the motorcyclist and pedestrian down in the roadway.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. His name has not yet been released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The motorcyclist, a 53-year-old Gilroy resident, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Gilroy Police Department is investigating the crash to determine what led to the collision. Pedestrian fatalities involving motorcycles often raise questions about speed, right of way, lighting conditions, and driver attentiveness.
