Rockville, MN (June 5, 2025) — A young driver was injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash involving a semi-truck at the intersection of Highway 23 and County Road 47, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Incident Details: The collision occurred around 4:50 p.m. when 19-year-old Olivia Williams of St. Cloud was driving northbound on Highway 23. At the same time, a semi-truck driven by 36-year-old Mitchell Gobely of Hastings was traveling westbound on County Road 47. The two vehicles collided at the intersection.
Williams was transported to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Gobely was not injured in the crash.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The investigation is ongoing, and authorities will likely evaluate whether either driver failed to stop or yield, whether signals were ignored, and whether visibility or speed contributed to the crash.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, Williams may be entitled to pursue a personal injury claim to recover costs related to medical treatment, vehicle damage, and pain and suffering.
